Back when our roses started blooming this summer I took this picture.

Babies Don't Keep

I haven't been blogging much, because I am taking time to enjoy my baby girl while she is still little and wants to be held.  She is such a sweetie!  She is growing up WAY too fast though.  She just turned 3 months old and is just over 15 pounds.  This poem by Ruth Hulburt Hamilton describes how I feel.

Newborn Photography

Where have I been?  Oh...well...I had a baby!  She was born May 7th.  You can find out more here.

I got to try my hand at newborn photography with my own newborn.  She was 4 days old in these photos.

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Bars

The other day I was wanting cookies.  I thought about what type of cookie I wanted, and decided that I wanted peanut butter, chocolate, and oatmeal all in a cookie.  The next morning this recipe shows up in my feedly.  Wow!  Talk about good timing!  I had all the ingredients on hand so I made it that morning.  They are so good!

Baby Girl's Crib

I have been "nesting" for a while.  I am not one of those that "nests" right before the baby comes, I "nest" for about the entire last trimester (or if you ask my husband I have been nesting since I found out we were having a girl).  It gets a little frustrating because my 2-year-old doesn't understand my need to have everything spotless all the time, and bathrooms are a challenge because he is potty-trained, but not exactly careful.

With my son, I didn't do much decorating of the nursery.  I am not sure why.  Maybe because he was a boy?  Maybe because I didn't know what I needed/wanted until after he was born?  Whatever the reason, this time "nesting" has also involved a little decorating.  Most of the things are things I had already, and I really haven't gone overboard at all, but I wanted to share her crib set up because it is just too cute!

Gauzy Baby Blankets

My first baby loved to be swaddled.  We got a sleep sack for him that is made from fleece, but I figured it would be too hot for most of the summer with this baby.  After looking around at different options, I decided to make 2 of these gauzy baby blankets for swaddling during the hot summer.
